Objective To eliminate the dependence of the traditional medical record editor on the functions and features of the operating system, client and browser, solve the problems of cross-platform inconsistency, slow performance and non-standard file storage, and support the development of cloud-native intelligent EMR system and its adaptation to IT-application innovation. Methods The new EMR editor was developed based on Model View-Controller Model, which ran on the browser, independent of the specific operating systems. XML format storage was used and does not depend on specific database. Furthermore, the display, printing and export problems of individual domestic browsers were solved by using program coding. Results The editor achieved cross-platform and multi-terminal consistency, and its performance was greatly improved. It could run normally on domestic operating system, database and browser. Conclusion The development and application of the new EMR editor can eliminate the core technical barriers of the migration from traditional C/S EMR to B/S cloud EMR, and can further accelerate the localization adaptation process of medical IT-application industry.
